Hiking Trails

A wide mowed trail forms two loops mostly around the perimiter of this large, densly wooded SNA. The trail is sheltered from the wind by dense vegetation, so mosquito protection is recommended.

Comments

This SNA is part of Quarry Park & Nature Preserve. A $4 vehicle parking permit or a $14 annual Stearns County permit is required. A wide mowed trail forms two loops for hiking through the site. Maps are available at the gate house and near the parking lot. Bug spray is recommended.

There is a breeding population of red-shouldered hawks (Buteo lineatus), a Minnesota special concern species, on this site.
