Four plant species with protected status in Minnesota are found here:
Threatened – Sullivant’s milkweed (Asclepias sullivantii)
Special concern – Hill’s thistle (Cirsium hillii), small white lady’s slipper (Cypripedium candidum), four-flowered yellow loosestrife (Lysimachia quadriflora)
Other plants that can be found on this site, along with those listed below, include American bur-reed (Sparganium americanum) and little bluestem (Schizachyrium scoparium var. scoparium).
About 5,000 seedlings have
been planted in the southeast corner of the preserve to create a “showcase” area. |
