Habitat

Deciduous broad-leaf or mixed evergreen forests dominated by aspen or birch.

Larval Hosts

Leaves of wild cherry, aspen, poplar, cottonwood, oaks, hawthorn, Deerberry, birch, willows, basswood, and shadbush, and other trees.

Adult Food

Sap flows, rotting fruit, aphid honeydew, carrion, dung, and occasionally nectar from small white flowers including spiraea, privet, viburnum.
