Habitat

Fields, woods. Low tree branches, shrubs, thick vegetation.


Identification

Light brown in color, including the cephalothorax, abdomen, and legs. A marking on the back, called a central figure, is slightly darker brown with a pale border.


Food

Insects, spiders, small slugs, snails, earthworms, caterpillars, beetle larvae, bird droppings, fungus, and other harvestmen.

The name brown daddy-long-legs refers to several species in the genus Leiobunum as well as a number of species in other genera, which otherwise have no common name.
