About

This site preserves the only remaining undeveloped land on Siseebakwet (Sugar) Lake. A unique feature of the site is a series of ice-push ridges. Minnesota lakes commonly have ice-push ridges, but the preservation of a nested series of closely spaced ridges is unusual. In addition, lakeshore development often leads to the destruction of these features. Because these features are fragile we ask visitors to keep off of ridges to protect their vegetation and prevent erosion.
