Overview |
Point Douglas Park consists of a narrow mowed grass strip, a swimming beach, and a large parking lot on the west (south) bank of the St. Croix River. It offers picnic tables, grills, restrooms, and a fishing pier. It is a wayside rest but also a Washington County park. The main attraction for naturalists comes in the winter, when the water often remains open. This is a good site to see wintering waterfowl. |

Winter Birding
Open water in the winter makes this a good place to check for wintering waterfowl. A Barrow’s Goldeneye was reported here in December, 2004, among a flock of Common Goldeneye.
