Overview

Slull Lake is a preserve that consists of three widely separated tracts in northeastern Kittson County.

History

On 74/6/2010 The Nature Conservancy (TNC) purchased a 239.18-acre parcel of land in northern Kittson County. The parcel is adjacent to one of many tracts that make up the Wallace C. Dayton Conservation and Wildlife Area, also a The Nature Conservancy preserve. This was to become the East Tract of Skull Lake Preserve.

On 8/6/2015 TNC purchased a 161.06-acre parcel 4 miles to the northwest. This parcel is adjacent to two other tracts of the Wallace C. Dayton Conservation and Wildlife Area. This became the North Tract of Skull Lake Preserve.

On 10/1/2015 it purchased a 230.69-acre parcel 4.5 miles to the southwest of the original parcel. This parcel is adjacent to the much larger Skull Lake Wildlife Management Area, and it became the West Tract of Skull Lake Preserve.
