Amphibians

Spring peeper (Pseudacris crucifer) has been recorded on this site.


Birds

Three bird species with protected status in Minnesota have been seen here:

Threatened – Trumpeter Swan (Cygnus buccinator)

Special concern – Short-eared Owl (Asio flammeus), Yellow Rail (Coturnicops noveboracensis)


Insects and Arachnids

Butterflies recorded here include frigga fritillary (Boloria frigga), Acadian hairstreak (Satyrium acadica), bronze copper (Lycaena hyllus), broad-winged skipper (Poanes viator), eastern tailed-blue (Cupido comyntas), mourning cloak (Nymphalis antiopa), red-disked alpine (Erebia discoidalis), Compton tortoiseshell (Nymphalis vaualbum), silver-bordered fritillary (Boloria selene), and common wood nymph (Cercyonis pegala nephala).


Mammals

Mammals recorded on this site include meadow vole (Microtus pennsylvanicus), short-tailed shrew (short-tailed shrew), masked shrew (Sorex cinereus), and arctic shrew (Sorex arcticus).
