Identification

The stem is covered with white, spreading hairs.

The leaves are alternate.

The flower has four petals arranged asymmetrically toward the top of the flower.

 
Similar
Species

Longflower beeblossom (Gaura coccinea) stem is covered with appressed, not spreading, hairs. It does not occur in Minnesota.

Scarlet beeblossom (Gaura coccinea) has red petals. It is found in the western third of the state.
