Published on May 15, 2012 After much consulting with those more knowledgable than myself, I have concluded these are lesser scaups (Aythya affinis). The male had a few characteristics that appeared to be that of a greater scaup, but the majority of the traits pointed towards lesser scaup. Especially with the female.
