National Wildlife Refuges (NWRs)

National Wildlife Refuges (NWRs) are sites that have been selected to conserve America’s fish, wildlife, and plants. They are managed and owned by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

There are currently 13 NWRs in Minnesota. Two NWRs have several widely separated units. All NWRs but one are open to the public.
