| Birds | Four birds with protected status in Minnesota have been seen here: Endangered – Henslow’s Sparrow (Ammodramus henslowii) Special Concern – Greater Prairie-chicken (Tympanuchus cupido), Marbled Godwit (Limosa fedoa), Nelson’s Sharp-tailed Sparrow (Ammodramus nelsoni), Other birds seen here include Bobolink (Dolichonyx oryzivorus), Downy Woodpecker (Picoides pubescens), Eastern Kingbird (Tyrannus tyrannus), Gray Catbird (Dumetella carolinensis), Le Conte’s Sparrow (Ammodramus leconteii), Red-tailed Hawk (Buteo jamaicensis), Savannah Sparrow (Passerculus sandwichensis), Sedge Wren (Cistothorus platensis), Upland Sandpiper (Bartramia longicauda), and Western Meadowlark (Sturnella neglecta). |
