Common Raven (Corvus corax) is much larger, about the size of a red-tailed hawk. The bill is longer and thicker with a tuft of hair on top at the base. In flight the wings are longer and tapered, and the tail is wedge-shaped. They often soar when flying and are often seen in pairs. The call is deeper, less piercing. Their range in Minnesota is mostly restricted to the north-central and northeast regions but is expanding into the central region. |
